Tasmanian Sommelier Challenge
So many people in Tasmania have asked me what it takes to be a sommelier, what training do you need, what should you learn, where, when and how over the years that I have practiced the craft.
That’s why I am really thrilled to bring you this challenge.
Utilising Riedel Glassware, that is fully black in colour, so you can't see the colour of the liquid, I will give to you 1 wine blind (hence so that you don’t know what it is) and then walk you through how to categorize and think like a sommelier in guessing the variety, style, region and age of the wine.
The wines assessed will of course be from that day's tour tour or experience.
If you get them correct, then I will present you with a prize for the hard work and you will also be able to hold the mantle of sommelier for the day.
